Title: 3D volume rendering of GRMHD numerical simulations of Black Hole accretion with relativistic jet
Time constraints: the preferred time is early July and it will last for 4 weeks, with the option to continue online

Project description
: We offer an introductory project to general relativistic magnetohydrodynamical (GRMHD) numerical simulations of accretion onto Kerr black holes (BH) and formation of relativistic jets. The primary goal of the project is to perform analysis on existing 3D GRMHD simulation data through volume rendering. The project will start with introduction to basics of GRMHD simulation data and the concept of frame transformation. Numerical codes will be provided to speed up the progress in the beginning while further development and verification of the imaging techniques will be performed by the student. Preferred software to render 3D images are Visit and Paraview (student could also come up with their own choice). Throughout the project, the student will learn how to handle 3D GRMHD data, gain hands-on experience in dealing with computing clusters and connect theoretical expectations with simulation data.
